Eric Banta Funeral/ Widow Fund

Eric Stephen Banta, my uncle 63, passed away on March 31, 2020 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown. He was born on December 21, 1956 in Franklin to my grandparents Irvin Banta and Anna Lee (Zimmerman) Banta.
Eric lived a rich & full life. He was married to his wife Beatrice Faye since 1982 and was a loving father to his two sons. He was a handyman, carpenter, and employee for my father and his car business for many years. He loved the woods, conservation, was a staunch supporter of Native American rights, & was the medicine man for the Platform Reservation Remnant Band of the Shawnee Nation, & a Army Veteran.
At time of his passing he had little financial gain to his name along with his immediate family. This fundraiser is targeted to help Beatrice and her immediate family cover funeral costs and some sort of short term living expenses at this time. Eric qualified for government disability but still always kept busy with carpentry and vehicle help for my Dad Tim Banta. He was not someone who was looking for a handout. Your help at this time could mean a lot.
I was always struck by my uncle in one major way. His willing heart of servant ship. His dedication to family and willingness to help anyone was astounding. He helped me tow vehicles, work on my home, pick up my stranded college vehicle, & more many times over. He never complained, never bickered, he just helped.
He is also survived by his mom, Anna Lee; children, Brandon Jay Banta (Malia), Phillip Michael Banta (Bridget), and Gabrielle Fordyce (Kyle); grandchildren, Aila Rose Banta, Austin Michael Banta, Zander Hornek, and Macie Hornek; siblings, Daniel Banta, Joseph Banta, Chris Wilson, Tom Banta, Tim Banta, and Lori Moore. He is preceded in passing by his father, Irvin.
