Eric Bair’s Life Altering Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
On Friday, August 4th 2023 Eric Bair was riding his motorcycle when suddenly a driver exited a parking lot into heavy traffic, pulling out in front of Eric, altering his life forever. Eric’s bike and body collided with negligent driver’s car, launching Eric 50 plus feet across moving traffic, and the median, with Eric’s body hitting a second car. Eric’s unresponsive body was found wedged under the second car. Eric has sustained an incredible list of injuries. Spinal cord injury, C3-C7 ACDF surgery, Grade III lacerated liver, Bruised chest wall, Type II Rockwood AC ligament rupture, AC joint sprain, ground glass found in base of lungs, partial lung collapse, All ligaments in left knee are torn, (will be braced/will need multiple knee surgery in future), extremely limited use of all limbs, not able to walk, not able to grasp objects with hands, wearing a neck brace. Eric is currently NPO (no food no water by mouth). Eric’s doctors, PT, OT, speech therapist, and nurses have discussed what lies ahead for Eric. After Eric’s stay at hospital, he will be moved directly to rehabilitation center for a minimum of 3 weeks. Hopefully Eric will make progress overtime, with the potential to have in-home care, and use of an electric wheelchair. Unfortunately, Eric’s road to recovery will be long and very painful mentally, physically and financially. Eric is not sure if he will be able to walk, drive a car or work again. It’s absolutely incredible Eric is alive. Wearing a helmet saved his life! If you would be so kind as to help Eric as he tries to navigate through his injuries and devastating financial burden this life changing accident inflicted upon a great guy with so much more to offer in life. Your donations will make an impact on Eric’s future over the next few months and years. Eric thanks you from the bottom of his heart!
