Eric A. Berding Funeral Expense

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we lost our wonderful friend, Eric Berding on October 17, 2017 in a fatal accident.  It is impossible to describe the hole in our hearts and we are all still in a state of shock at the suddenness of his loss.

We want to ease the financial burden that comes with losing someone so suddenly. This memorial fund will help to take care of Eric's final expenses and perhaps a small nest egg for his wife and daughter. Any donation, no matter how small is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all that have heard and expressed your condolences. It is hard to put into words exactly what Eric meant to us, but we will post here three things written by some of his friends. They sum up Eric pretty well. His heart, generosity, and even his Packer fandom will be sorely missed. R.I.P. brother.

The thing a person might notice about Eric at first glance was his beard. It was considerable and impressive. It was a source of pride for him, but it served another purpose it protected his heart which was also considerable and impressive. It would otherwise be exposed because he welcomed everyone into it. He would help carry the weight of his friends’ pain as readily as he would celebrate their joy. He had the heart of Superman, the compassion…and the T-shirt, which no one in my mind better exemplified. I know I’m among a large and fortunate company in saying he was a brother to me and my heart will gladly carry the weight of his example. Go Packers. - Chuck

Eric is…

The dude who made you feel like a regular when you were new to the group. He is the one to always support us, no matter the situation. Eric always makes you laugh, even when you didn’t want to. His kindness is contagious, because he always makes you feel like you’re 1 in a million. His love for The Packers, Superman and Futurama is questionable; but he never cares cause “Eric is gonna be Eric”; and he makes us feel that we can be ourselves with no shame, humiliation, or “regerts” (Regrets). He is always proud of us for what we chose to do in life because we chose it ourselves. He enjoys life, family, knowledge, comics and habitually; he loves his friends. Eric is always going to be our friend; we will always love him for his help and guidance that he has given to us. He will always be remembered as the jolly comic shop guy, the packers fan, our “brother from another mother”, and lastly our friend.
GO PACK GO - Kevin

You opened your home
When I almost lost mine
You took me in as waters rose
And my dog and my friend and my friend's dog too
You were the only person
To me, who showed how a farm boy
Like you, could be a hero
You even were quick with advice
And when you didn't have any
At least you had my back
We didn't always agree
And we bickered like brother and sister
But we always bounced back
Like the family we had become
We were the Justice League
Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman
And you, our very own Superman
Our leader, our friend, our brother
Who flew too close
To that bright Yellow Sun - Taryn

Although broken, we thank you with all of our hearts.
