Blessings everyone,
On April 28th, Erianna was rushed to the emergency department where she was later transported to Riley Children's Hospital via ambulance with a nurse anesthesiologist, 2 medics, and a trauma nurse. Upon arrival at Riley, she was treated and given a BiPAP ventilator and other lines to monitor her oxygen levels, heart rate, and other things. Erianna suffered many setbacks. Despite everything, Erianna is a fighter, and we declared VICTORY!
I want to continue being able to focus on my daughter without the immense financial burden of trying to figure out bills, lost income, and how to get medical supplies, etc. I truly didn't want to do this for myself, but after being asked repeatedly, I decided to set this up. This is now admission 3 in a short 7-week time frame. If you could please keep the prayers rolling for strength both individually and as a family. Erianna requires around-the-clock care. Currently, we have no outside services coming into the home to assist us. According to the outside services, it could be 120 days or greater to be approved for disability Medicaid and no time frame for the Medicaid waiver program. She will be beginning occupational and physical therapy within the next few weeks. She will also undergo cognitive behavioral therapy as this was a traumatic event.
God is faithful in spite of everything, and He has already told us we have the victory! Pray for peace over Erianna's mind as she navigates all of the recent changes to her body. Our declaration and belief are yes, she may be experiencing symptoms, but we don't take ownership of anything. This diagnosis is just so we know how to pray. More than ever, I want Erianna to experience the joy she once had and to stop apologizing as this is not her fault or anyone else's.
As a road map of how to pray, the diagnosis was Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND), Myasthenia Gravis, and episodes of syncope coupled with non-epileptic seizures. We truly believe the report of the Lord. As we are working on a number of things, such as trying to get the rest of her medical equipment and some other immediate but necessary things that I am sure you could imagine, please be aware any and all assistance you can provide our family would be great. We trust that the Lord will bring us through each and every phase of this journey from inability to work currently based on Erianna needing around-the-clock care, helpers to volunteer their time. Currently no agency has the ability to help speed up the process until Medicaid is approved. Our world may have shaken a little bit, but trust and believe it did not break or stop us. Thank you in advance for whatever you are able to do.
I cannot express our gratitude or say thank you enough for your love, support, and generosity. Every prayer, donation, and kind word make a difference, and we are deeply appreciative!
Sincerely,
Natosha Burks
