I write this with a heavy heart and memories flooding back from my own childhood. Morocco is not just another place on the map to me—it's where I grew up, where my fondest memories were made, where the essence of family and community was instilled in me.

On September 8th, that land which holds a piece of my heart was violently shaken. An earthquake didn't just shatter homes, it shattered lifetimes of memories, it shattered the very essence of what I remember of my homeland. Witnessing families torn apart, children left without homes, and historic sites reduced to rubble, I feel an overwhelming heartache.

But we have the power to make a difference.

All funds raised through this campaign will be directed straight to the villages most affected, focusing primarily on providing shelter and essential equipment that is desperately needed in this critical hour. Your donation isn't just money—it's warmth for a child against the cold night, tools for rebuilding, and a promise of a brighter tomorrow.

I've chosen an unconventional route for this fundraising initiative. While I wholeheartedly support and contribute to various charities, for this endeavour, I want every single penny to directly reach those in dire need. Charities, with their noble intentions, still have overheads. By spearheading this fundraiser, I make sure each cent you donate will directly touch the life of someone in need, without the cost lost to administrative expenses.(excluding Gofundme platform processing fees)

Here’s a breakdown of how your generous contributions will be utilised:

Some funds will be utilised here in the UK and this is by buying:

Immediate Supplies: As Marrakech and its surrounding regions face dire shortages, part of the funds will be used in the UK to procure certain supplies like power banks, torches, tents, and sleeping bags.

Some funds will be transferred to a family member in Morocco, who will be instrumental in: 


1- Sheltering the Homeless: Offering warmth against the encroaching cold.


2- Medical Aid: Ensuring the injured receive necessary care.


3-Water and Food Distribution: Addressing primary survival needs.

I am taking a personal step to ensure our contributions make a real difference. I plan to travel to the affected villages in Marrakech to offer help firsthand. Time is of the essence here, especially as I'm six months pregnant. As many of you know, traveling in the later stages of pregnancy poses its own challenges. My hope is to secure most of the funds before it becomes too late for me to journey safely. However, if circumstances prevent my travel, please rest assured that my selfless and generous friends and family in Morocco stand ready. They've pledged to uphold this cause, both financially and physically. Their dedication mirrors mine—they will step in as if I was there in person, ensuring that your contributions reach those in dire need.
