It is extremely challenging to post this online, but I am determined to make it happen. I have a dream and this message is a request for you to help me make it come true.
The story begins with a confused lad, who was suffering from depression and anxiety after his 3 years of military service. I was diagnosed with PTSD, seeing a psychiatrist and undergoing medical treatment for a few years, which helped to reduce the symptoms, but not dealing with the underlying causes.
I know what it's like to suffer. And it was Buddhist philosophy and especially Buddhist meditation that had a fundamental constructive impact on my mind.
It was only when I first travelled to India, that I did my first "Introduction to Buddhism" course in 'Tushita Meditation Centre' up in the hills of Dharamsala. It completely revolutionised the way I looked at the world, other people and the way I live my life.
When I graduated from college in mid 2013, I decided to travel back to India for another 10 days course, and ever since then up to the present day I've been living in Dharamsala, engaging in studies, courses as well as group and solitary retreats. In 2015, I had the priviledge of leading meditations for over a year at 'Tushita' (the place where it all began), which was the most meaningful period in my life. There's only gratitude in my heart towards these practices. And now, I truly wish to be able to share these with others, to help other people around the world as well as the people of Israel, who are undergoing mental suffering in their lives. In order to do so - I would like to get the most beneficial education to be able to do this. To do so I need funding. So, I am asking for your help now, so that I may be able to help others in the future. And this is where you come in to the picture.
So...there's a 6 year Masters Programme in Advanced Buddhist Studies of Sutra and Tantra at 'Lama Tzong Khapa Institute' (Pomaia Italy). This is a full-time residential study programme followed by a one year retreat [and the prices are... not exactly in Indian rupees :) ]. After all these years as a student and a volunteer in India, I have no means to sponsor it. The costs are around 500 euros per month for study fees and accommodation (about 4500 euros per year). I am asking for your kind help.
