My mom, Cathy, has been battling cancer now for 3 years. Along this cancer journey she was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer that had spread to several bones and her liver. Her immediate treament was to have her thyroid and some lymph nodes removed. Afterwards she endured 4 rounds of radioactive idoine and two sets of radiation therapy to her pelvis. Radiation is now deemed ineffective. My mom is now on a cancer drug to slow the cancer growth. She is also on pain medication for pain in her bones (where the cancer is).
Shortly after her surgery to remove her thyroid, my mom had to stop working because she has extreme fatigue and pain. She is now on CPP disability, which leaves her with less income. Some of her medications are NOT covered by her drug plan and she has to pay out of pocket about $800 a month. Anything would help.
Through it all she has remained very positive and outgoing, even going to a few Thyroid cancer conferences to gain as much knowledge as possible.
If you can please give anything would help. My mom would love to know people are praying for her as well.
