On Wednesday (Feb. 17th, 2021), Erallu's apartment room caught on fire while she was out for class. Her roommate witnessed the fire and safely evacuated. As a result, Erallu is unable to salvage all of her possessions due to severe damage and contamination. The unfortunate absence of a renter's insurance means Erallu will not be reimbursed for what she has personally lost.
After consulting with mold & fire damage specialists, they believe the old apartment building's poor maintenance caused the outlet near her bed to malfunction. It was also concluded that Erallu's fire alarm did not work.
Erallu and her roommate were assured that they had renter's insurance. In reality, they did not and they only learned about this after the accident.
I wanted to set this page up for Erallu as an outlet for anyone who may be willing to lend her support. It will at least help offset the financial cost for her.
