Hello, my name is Rachel Keck and I am raising money to help with the end of life expenses for my mother, Fay VanStee. Back in October 2022, my mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. It began with a cancerous tumor on her right breast, it metastasized, traveled to her stomach, liver, ovaries and uterus. Her doctors tried to fight the cancer aggressively head on, but sadly on February 17th, 2023 they determined the chemotherapy was causing more harm to her already frail body than good, and chose to switch over to comfort/hospice care. Unfortunately it is only a matter of time before she will lose her battle with cancer.
My mother means the world to me, and I feel she deserves to have her end of life wishes met.
My mother's wishes are to be cremated when her time comes. At this time, I cannot afford to cover the costs associated with transporting her body across the state to be back home to follow through with her wishes of planning a funeral with viewings and then cremation.
Any funds raised with this fundraiser will be directly used for the transportation of my mother's body back home, her viewings, and her cremation. I'm not exactly sure how much it will cost in the end so I am putting a $10,000 starting goal. Any little bit helps. Thank you.

It is with deepest sorrow on behalf of my brothers Jacob VanStee, Benjamin VanStee and I to announce that this evening March 11, 2023 around 9:20pm, our mother Fay VanStee passed away. We thank all who have been supportive for us and her during her cancer journey. Funeral arrangements are pending, and we will make sure to share those arrangements when they are ready. We thank all for your continued support as we traverse this world without our mother's beautiful soul amongst us. We love you and miss you so much mom.

Linked is my mother's Obituary from the funeral home. We still do not currently have a date scheduled for services as we do not have enough funds raised for them to be ok with setting a date. The funeral home is willing to bring the cost of the funeral down to $5,000, but they want $2500 as a down payment to lock in a scheduled date, with the final $2500 paid as soon as humanly possible. Unfortunately with other expenses involved, we will still need closer to the $7,000 to ensure everything is covered including any final debts my mother may have had before passing.
