Our sister Vicky Chiri is an ER tech at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas where she is on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic. She is usually the first face that patients see when they come in for symptoms. She never complains about the risk she’s in at work, she works hard and has a bubbly, happy and infectious spirit.
On Saturday, April 4, her car was stolen right from her driveway after she had worked a long shift. The vehicle was located later that day after filing a police report and posting it on Austin-area Facebook groups, but the car was wrecked and badly burned. She said she’s somehow going to try to fix it, but it needs a lot of repairs and the odor inside it is awful. While she’s trying to fix it, she’s going to have to take the bus to and from work, extending her day and putting her in contact with even more people.
We want to raise money for her so she can buy a used vehicle that is reliable – preferably with an alarm on it. Every $1 counts so if you can chip in at all, PLEASE consider helping her! I know times are hard for many, but Vicky should be able to go to and from work with some peace of mind.
