Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal, and get emergency ready! We’ve brought our trailer home and are working on trailer training Moonshine and Indigo.
Get Equi-Sense Emergency Ready!
Your donations will make it possible for Equi-Sense (a 501c3 nonprofit) to purchase a horse trailer so that we can move our rescue horses quickly to safety during wildfires and other emergencies.
This will also allow us to take our therapeutic services to other locations across Sonoma County.

As part of the entirely volunteer team, Executive Director Erica Tom leads therapeutic horsemanship sessions for foster children and underserved communities in Sonoma County with our two rescue horses, Indigo and Moonshine. Karen Kallestad-Miller, our horse fairy godmother, has made it possible to bring Indigo and Moonshine to Equi-Sense.
Indigo is a 28-year-old American Quarter Horse.

Moonshine is a 10-year-old Mustang from the Modoc National Forest.

Our wonderful rescue horses give their hearts to Equi-Sense, and we want to be able to keep them safe in emergencies. Every little bit helps!
All donors receive invitation to Equi-Sense's annual autumn barn party on Saturday, October 14th, 12-3 pm, featuring live music by Paul Steward of Twice As Good, lunch by Taqueria Sol Azteca, Primani Wine, and more! $150 donors get a set at the Paint Party by Clusterfunk Studios.
- $100 donors receive an American-made Equi-Sense leather patch trucker hat.
- $150 donors receive an American-made Equi-Sense leather patch trucker hat AND a reserved spot at the Paint Party by Clusterfunk Studios at the barn party.

Contact Dr. Erica Tom to coordinate receiving your thank-you gift (limited supplies). The annual autumn barn party is subject to date change. Follow us on Instagram (equi.sense) to get a sneak peek.

We hope to raise $21,372 to purchase this Maverick Lite trailer (including emergency hay and water storage) from a local business, that will keep us emergency ready for decades! We are grateful to folks who’ve sent checks and our fundraising goal reflects the change to the amount we need to raise.

Equi-Sense is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our therapeutic facilitation and horse care team is entirely volunteer.
