Equipment for Margo

Despite a relatively normal pregnancy, during Margo’s birth, there were complications which meant Margo lost oxygen for a significant time. Unfortunately, this led to severe brain damage causing cerebral palsy, dystonia & epilepsy. Margo is registered blind and is unable to eat due to an unsafe swallow, so every meal is blended and fed to her through a tube in her tummy.

Despite Margo’s complex extra needs & around the clock care, she is the most amazing little girl. She smiles, she shouts to music and she brings happiness to anybody who meets her.

Her dad and I worked hard before Margo was born but were unable to return to our old “work” as being Margo’s parents became our full time commitment.

Up to now we have provided everything Margo needs, but the cost of this specialist equipment is a constant struggle. Recently Margo was fitted for a trike but due to the adaptations required the cost of this is £1861. We had hoped this would be funded using a charity but was unsuccessful.

I know this trike would be brilliant for Margo’s physio as it moves her legs and as embarrassing as it feels asking for help, we are determined to secure this for our little girl.
