Equipment Fire at Grindstone Ridge Farm
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Ross Merchant and I run Grindstone Ridge Farm in partnership with my mother Dawn Viands. We both are on disability which makes the struggle incredibly hard both physically and financially. I have Multiple Sclerosis and this whole situation has been very bad for my health. We recently had to move 45 minutes from our previous location. On the last trip to get my bees to move to the new location, I get the phone call that my skid loader was on fire. This is a $10,000 piece of equipment I just put over $2,000 into with new tires, drive chains, etc. On top of that, I was in a pretty severe car accident in January that I'm still recovering from. the woman that hit me denied fault so I was left with a totalled truck and no money, my insurance covered the ER visit, but i'm still fighting with them to compensate me for the over $400 in extra prescriptions and the extra doctors visits, I had to buy a used truck which happened to blow the rear end during towing multiple 10,000+lb trailers. The skid loader catching fire was the final nail in the coffin, I need help, if I can work off the money in the future please contact me as to how.
Thank you so much for those that have donated so far. I've been able to purchase the larger pieces needed, however, it is the nickel and dime parts that are currently killing me, as well as the weather, along with MS flare that have delayed actual work.
Much thanks,
Ross
