Support Advanced Training for Ukrainian Therapists

Hi, my name is Anita, and I’m raising funds to support the advanced training of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working in acute care hospitals across Ukraine.

These dedicated professionals are facing unimaginable challenges:

Limited resources and support

An ever-growing number of severely wounded patients.

Long hours and constant on-the-job learning.

Despite these hardships, their commitment is extraordinary. They, alongside Ukrainian surgeons, are doing life-changing work—and every bit of international support lifts their spirits and strengthens their impact.

Our 2026 Mission

With your help, I plan to:

March and April 2026: Return for extended visits to three hospitals, providing extension hands-on training and ongoing mentorship.

While injuries of this scale are rare in Australia, the principles of acute rehabilitation remain the same. Ukrainian therapists are smart, eager, humble, and deeply grateful for the knowledge and encouragement these trips bring.

Why Your Support Matters

Equipment & Supplies: In previous trips, I’ve personally carried critical items such as microsurgical thread, surgical headlights, and therapy tools. 

Therapists urgently need:

•  3 sewing machines (2 have already been funded)
  
• basic sewing supplies (thread, needles, Velcro, neoprene, Lycra),
  
• Compression garments (the sewing machines will help adjust these for individual fit) 
  
• Scar care equipment (mini massagers, elastomer putty, tuning forks, silicon cups)
  

They also need the expertise of seamstresses to make and teach them to adapt compression garments for trauma patients. Funds to pay for their time are also needed. 

Specialist Training: Some hospitals now have world-class rehabilitation facilities and sophisticated equipment, but very few physiotherapists are trained in their applications. Training these professionals means more patients can benefit from these resources.

Rising Costs: Travel, accommodation, and even food in Ukraine are becoming more expensive, making your support even more critical.

How We Use Your Donations

Every cent is spent in or for Ukraine, supporting Ukrainian patients and the therapists caring for them.

Donations fund therapy equipment, training materials, and essential travel to deliver mentorship where it’s needed most.

For transparency, photos of every major purchase and delivery are shared with donors via WhatsApp or email updates via GoFundMe.

You may donate via this platform or directly, anonymously or publicly, and amounts can be displayed with or without your name.
