Hello, my name is Derin Paskanik, I am the throws coach at Toll Gate High School in Warwick, RI. We just wrapped up our indoor campaign where we had many great performances as a team. We had an athlete claim National Championship in the weight throw at Nike Indoor Nationals, as well as 3rd place All-American at New Balance Nationals! She won 12 out of 16 meets this season, winning Division, Class and State Titles along the way. As we pivot to outdoor, our throws team has continued to grow. While we do have all the essentials, we would love to be able to get some new special equipment for competitions. Meet fees are also getting more and more expensive. My goal as a coach is to get athletes as much experience and exposure as possible, and doing so requires going to meets outside the RIIL schedule that the school cannot legally fund. This fund will get us some new hammers and also let us travel for many exciting opportunities throughout the spring and summer.
