Equine Relief: From Dust to Safety
Tax deductible
For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to help Equine Safe Haven make its haven safer.
Due to apocalyptic dust storms, school-closing dust storms, dust storms that shut the entire New Mexico interstate down, haboobs, scenes from out of The Mummy and Mad Max… the equines have been transferred from southern New Mexico to literally greener pastures at Texas Saddlehawk Ranch, about an hour north of Dallas.
These overnight equine trailer transfers, from New Mexico to north of Dallas, from April to June, have been a lesson in patience and endurance, and now a reset to return to regular programming.
Diesel, on average, to transfer from New Mexico to Texas is $700.
Can you help cover one of these (9? 10?) trips as we prepare to serve our new community?
In the meantime, these equines will be adjusting to wild new concepts, like rain and trees and grass. Hahaha.
Getting the layout, with vaccinations and gelding, and back to competitions and driving with the elderly, veterans, the mobility-challenged… a new life of purpose for those abandoned at a kill pen.
Any help is both so needed and appreciated.
