Brother Amen Oueik - Cancer patient

I have started this page on behalf of our beloved brother Amen Oueik.

For those who don't know Amen, he is a 39 years old father of 5, ages 8 years and younger. He is a kind, caring, supportive and one of the most genuine brothers.

I have known him for the past 10 years. Just over a year ago, Amen was diagnosed with bowel, liver and bone cancer and has been trying to recover since.

The cancer has been a very aggressive cancer spreading into his bones, causing severe damage. He has spent the past 12 months in treatments of intense doses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. He has seen numerous specialists and trialled various methods for a cure, but nothing has worked. His body has deteriorated dramatically, weighing 50kg, down from 75kg.

He has lost feeling in both arms, is unable to walk, in tremendous pain and is currently in hospital under intense medication. May Allah give him patience; he has been so strong throughout his battle and has never complained and only been grateful of what has befallen him.

Amen currently owes approximately $180,000 on his property and we are trying to get this paid off to ensure that if he departs this world, he leaves debt free and his wife and kids don't have to worry about his debt.

The family have confirmed that his parents are happy to keep the house for his wife and kids so they will not be selling the house if Amen departs this world.

Allah Ta’ala says,

“Those who (in charity) spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.” (2:274)

“…that which you give for charity, seeking the Countenance of Allah, (will increase); it is those who will get a recompense multiplied.” (30:39)

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

“If a human dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqa Jariah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him”. Narrated by Muslim.

May Allah Ta’ala, Most Merciful give us opportunities to do many ways of giving Sadaqah for His pleasure and reward us in the Aakhirah (Hereafter). Ameen.

Abu Qatadah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever grants relief to a debtor or absolves his debt, he will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection.”

Just to clarify a few things for those donating.

- The fundraiser is for Amen Oueik and Hanan Oueik and their kids of 5. The purpose of the fundraiser is to help pay off the loan that is left on the house.

- Amen Oueik is my family friends and his wife Hanan is my wife's friend and we are fund raising to assist them with their mortgage.

- Initially I Taaha Taleb will.be receiving the money upon which I will be transferring them in Amen Oueiks Home Loan account with MCCA. Amen provided me with the details to the MCCA account which I will use to transfer the money to.
