This is the Story of Yessica and Edwin and their famil from Venezuela

I met them in Colombia . Many Venezuelans have come to Colombia because of the criminal government there has made life very hard for them. Living in Colombia is much easier. It's still very difficult as these people are so poor.

Late Update 10-10-2025 on Rosmari-- So the open heart surgery seemed to be failing and she was given the gene therapy drug Zolgensma which is a 2.1 Million Dollar lidt price drug -- in Venezuela we were able to get 2 treatments for $700 and THE Treatment has Fixed Rosmari-- Thank God

Update Oct 24, 2024 - I have not done any updates in a long time-- But-- the need is still there Little Rosmari had heart surgery about 6 months ago, it was a tubal operation and it has failed she just had open heart surgery on the Oct 5th-- She is recovering Thank God-- Yesterday she had a little pain and has returned to the hospital

PLEASE Help if You Can-- the Road to recovery is long and these are the Poorest People-- I do what I can but it is not enough--Please Help Save Rosmari

Hola, mi nombre es Matthew Otsuka, vivo en Bogotá Colombia y estoy tratando de ayudar a Ellos son una familia pobre de refugiados venezolanos que viven aquí. Veo tanta gente pobre aquí y esta es mi manera de tratar de ayudar a algunos, conocí a Yessica y 2 de sus hijos hace 7 meses. Me enamoré de sus hijos y me he convertido en su defensor.

--Jessica y Edwin y sus 5 hijos, Rosemary, Yeison, Rosanna, Barbara y Adrian viven en una habitación en un terrible edificio en el centro de Bogotá.

Viven al día, Yessica vende bolsas de basura y dulces en la calle y Edwin hace reciclaje y mano de obra no calificada que paga muy poco.

Cada día deben salir a tratar de conseguir suficiente dinero para pagar su habitación y alimentar a los niños.

Mis metas para la familia Son

1) Llévalos a un apartamento seguro

2) Ayúdelos a iniciar una pequeña empresa para que puedan ser autosuficientes.

3) Llevar a la escuela a los 3 hijos mayores, Rosanna, Adrian y Barbara. Ninguno de estos pobres niños sabe leer.

Se necesita dinero inmediatamente para ayudarlos a sobrevivir. Por favor, ayuda si puedes donando y compartiendo esta historia.

Hi, My name is Matthew Otsuka, I live in Bogota Colombia and I am trying to help a Poor Venezuelan Refugee family that lives here. I see so many poor people here and this is my way of trying to help some, I met Yessica and 2 of her children 6 months ago. I fell in love with her children and have become their advocate

--Jessica and Edwin and their 5 children, Rosemary, Yeison, Rosanna, Barbara and Adrian live in one room in a terrible building downtown Bogota. 

They Live hand to mouth, Yessica sells trashbags and candy in the street and Edwin is doing recycling and unskilled labor which pays very little.

Each day they must go out to try and get enough money to pay for their room and feed the children

My goals for the family Are

1) Get them into a safe apartment 

2) Help them start a small business so they can become self sustaining.

3) Get the 3 oldest children Rosanna, Adrian and Barbara into school. None of these poor children can read

Money is needed immediatly to help them survive. Please Help if you can by donating and sharing this story
