I'm trying to help out my friend, who really needs some medical support. She's been dealing with some serious familiar autonomic dysfunction, and it's tough on her and her kids. I've known Beth since we were little, and she's always been a fighter. She's been through so much—abuse, losing her daughter to the same medical issues, you name it. Even when life threw her curveballs, she was always the first to lend a hand to others, even strangers. She’s gone without just to make sure others had what they needed.
Growing up with her, I sadly watched the system fail her time and time again. Now, she really needs help to save her life. Over the past few years, she's gotten weaker and sicker, and the doctors can’t figure out why. They all agree it’s serious and is life-threatening. She needs to get to the Vanderbilt Autonomic Medical Center in Tennessee. Her blood sugar levels are always super low, no matter what she eats, and her kids have even found her unconscious and bleeding from falls. She can't drive or take care of herself anymore, and the doctors in North Carolina have been stumped . To get to Vanderbilt, she’ll need to move and get Tennessee medical insurance. After all the people she’s helped, it’s time for us to help her. Her kids deserve to have her around for longer. We all do.
