Home away from home

Hi, I’m Tabitha! My best friend made the long journey from New York to Oregon to visit her grandparents who will not be with us much longer. Unfortunately, she became ill on arrival and has got progressively worse. On November 20th she diagnosed with COVID pneumonia and was admitted to a hospital in Portland. She is fighting very hard to recover, and will be undergoing treatment for at least 14 days. Her children, who were traveling with her, also have it, but thankfully their symptoms are all mild. They are young adults, and very worried about their mom. Because they are all sick, they can not stay with family as intended due to the risk it will cause.

We are working on making arrangements for the kids to get back home, but it will be a minimum of 10 days before they can travel home to New York safely.

I am trying to make sure they are all taken care of so their mom can focus on rest and recovery. They will need lodging for at least 10 days, or longer, and help with food.
