Our two dogs, Mia & Luna, have been stuck abroad for over four months because their breed is banned in the UAE, where we recently relocated for work. When we first began this process, we were assured that it was possible and that everything would go smoothly as long as we followed the legal path. We trusted that, and we started immediately.

But once everything was already underway — trainers hired, paperwork issued, veterinary procedures completed — the rules changed. What was originally “possible” suddenly became a maze of new restrictions and legal grey zones. Still, we didn’t stop. We kept pushing.

We have now completed every requirement placed before us:
• Professional ESA/medical dog training
• Official certificates and assessments
• Legal and veterinary documentation
• Import licensing and approvals (against all odds)
• Registered compliance with authorities

This process has already exceeded €13,000 in costs — training, certification, relocation agents, boarding, accommodation, documentation, travel, and care. We have covered everything ourselves up until this point because giving up was never an option.

Halfway through, regulations tightened again and ESA/service dogs were also banned from entry. We were repeatedly told it would now be “impossible.”
But we refused to give up, and after months of persistence, we successfully obtained a special import license for them — something almost no one is granted under the current rules.

Now we are at the final and only remaining obstacle: transportation.
The only airlines flying out from where Mia & Luna are currently located have denied them strictly due to breed restrictions — even with medical/service authorization.

That leaves just one remaining path: a private / charter flight.
This is extremely costly, but it is now the only safe and legally accepted option.

The import paperwork they were finally granted has an expiry window. If that window closes, all the approvals, licenses, and months of effort disappear — and the door to bringing them home closes permanently.

This fundraiser goes directly toward the final flight cost required to reunite Mia & Luna with us. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps push this last barrier out of the way.

As a thank-you, we created a heart warming digital e-book called “Mia’s Dog Dictionary” — a funny and uplifting “dog-to-human” translation guide written in Mia’s voice. Everyone who donates receives it as a digital gift.

If you are able to help, share, or support in any way, you become part of the final step of this journey — the step that finally brings them home, after months of uncertainty and waiting.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us bring Mia & Luna home.
