Grey is a social worker, activist and student. They work with street based, mainly LGBT, youth and are active in SURJ, an activist group for white people to support people of color led movements.
Last year Grey came out as trans. They have spent the last year taking all the necessary steps to be seen as their true self by the outside world. This includes leaving their former place of work where they were being discriminated against for being trans, and changing their legal name.
Now they are ready to take the next step. They might be slightly embarrassed that we’re even writing this, but they need support to fund top surgery this spring.
The cost of surgery is $4,000 , and anything raised over that will go to the Audre Lorde Project. The Audre Lorde Project is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color community organizing center, focusing on the New York City area.
We love Grey, and can’t wait for them to feel comfortable in the outside world & in their body. Will you chip in to help make that happen?
