Hey everyone,
I know most of you already know, my sister had spinal surgery almost 6 months ago and is still in a recovery stage.
Her story starts off when she woke up and couldn’t walk. She was taken to Lakeridge Oshawa where she was seen and then sent to Sunnybrook to have cervical spine surgery. Niki has a husband that works nights and 2 Autistic Children one of whom has regular seizures.so her not being around has taken a large toll on her family.
She is now at Lyndhurst spinal rehabilitation hospital where she is working hard to hopefully walk unassisted again.
Since all of this has happened her family has had to find somewhere else to live. Before Niki is able to leave the hospital the new house needs to be accommodated for wheelchair access. She has been able to secure a few of the needed items, but there is still more to get.
Obviously with Niki not working since all this began and her husband now being the sole provider money has been tight. They will definitely struggle to afford the balance of the necessary equipment.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
Niki’s big sister Tracy and family
