It had been a good trip, fishing wasn’t the greatest but me and Maddie still got two in the boat, and it was good to catch up for a little. We grabbed dinner and I planned my trip home, duty called on Sunday. Jacob came to Waldport picked and picked me up. I was excited I got see more people that simply remind me of home ❤️.
On Friday Jacob and I were headed to Salem to get Layla and Ava because it was late it was decided they were gonna stay home, but go with us to the airport in the morning. The visit was gonna be short but worth worth every minute. Me and Jacob never made it to Salem.
After turning out of Newport we were headed towards Salem when a driver pulled out in front of us. I was asleep at the time, but Jacobs frantic scream had woken me up with no time to react, before I had any idea what was going on the airbags deployed the car was filled with smoke, and all I remember saying was “Jacob are you okay”. After being able to get out of the car and call 911, I waited with Jacob till 911 arrived. They took us both by ambulance from the crash to Newport hospital where I was later released with some scratches and bruises but thankful to even walk away alive. Jacob on the other hand has a broken hip socket which coincides with a hip dislocation. They tried putting back in place 6 times in the ER with no success. It was decided then he would be life flighted to Portland for emergency open reduction/internal fixation surgery of the hip. Jacob finally made it into surgery on Tuesday, after 5 hours they were able to repair his hip. The road for Jacob is long… 2 months of no bearing weight on that leg followed up with 2 years of intense physical therapy to basically learn how to walk again. In the meantime Jacob is unable to work, and we all know insurance likes the drag their feet when it comes to things like this. All the prayers prayed have been felt and we’d appreciate them coming ❣️
