On December 5th we went into the hospital at 5am to get induced to welcome our beautiful baby girl into this world. After a couple hours of the nurses and doctors trying to find her heart beat, and them loosing it over and over. They noticed every time mom would get a contraction it would stress the baby out and her heart beat would drop. So they decided to do an emergency c-section, Mariana was born at 1:20pm. She only cried twice, when they noticed she had drank a lot of fluids so they rushed her to the NICU. From this point on her dad never left her side. They informed dad in the NICU that they were going to have to send Mariana to Valley Children’s. Because her esophagus didn’t fully develop so it wasn’t connected to her stomach. Dad followed her to valley children’s at 8:30pm and stayed up with her all night. That night they started connecting all the machines that were going to monitor her and feed her through the bellybutton seance she couldn’t eat on her own. On December 10th her blood test and X-rays came back, they notice so many things were not right. Her esophagus never connected to her stomach she had a big hole in her heart, she had a cloud in between her brain, and her lungs were giving up on her. That’s when the doctors told us she had Trisomy 18 and she would only live a couple days or weeks, that we were lucky if she made it to 2 weeks. Our baby girl was strong she made it past the 2 week mark!! Only because she had all the love and support in the world. From her loving nurses that would take such great care of her like if she was one of their own. And her amazing family that would go up and visit her not just once but multiple times a week. On December 21st at exactly 11pm, our little angel took her last breath in her daddy’s arms. Fly high our little angel! Rest In Peace Mariana Felícitas.❤️
