My wonderful friend Richard Webley sadly lost his brave battle against cancer on September 15th, 2023. On 13th April 2025, I will be running the Newport Marathon and attempting for a third time, to break the magical 3 hour mark. In honour of my good friend I am looking to raise valuable funds for the Richard Webley Celebration Fund.

To celebrate the life of Richard, his family have set up this fund to ensure he is honored and remembered in the most fitting way. All money raised will be used to support certified non-profits and initiatives that align with his beliefs, passions and moral standards.

Richard especially cared about ensuring children had access to mentorship and leadership opportunities, youth development through sport and community focused organisations.

Your support of the Richard Webley Celebration Fund will make sure his name and spirit is carried forward and most importantly help make a difference to those who are underserved or less fortunate in their circumstances.

Richard and his ever present and loving wife, Lucy, were courageous and selfless through three years of intense treatment. His positivity was an inspiration to everyone and a perfect example of how one should approach life.

Through his work, social, family and sporting life, Rich had a huge impact on everyone he interacted with. Always there to listen or help, never putting his needs first and always the first to raise a hand in support.

With never a bad word for anyone and the patience of a Saint, Rich truly was a remarkable husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, work colleague, boss, tennis partner, sailing crew member and cat lover.

In his cruelly short life he lived more than most could ever hope to, and yet, had so much more to give.
