Help get Ahmed and Family to Canada
Donation protected
My name is Anne O Rorke I'm from Waterford in Ireland and I am president of TIAFI (Team International Assistance for Integration)an NGO(Non Governmental Organization) in Izmir Turkey.
Ahmed and Shaymaa fled from Syria as refugees six years ago while Shaymaa was five months pregnant. They travelled across the border to Turkey, often on foot through mountainous terrain. Their hope and dream was to ensure their unborn son would never know the suffering they had endured in war-torn Syria where they lost loved ones, had little access to food or basic necessities and had spent sleepless nights waiting for the next bomb to drop.
While Turkey is doing its best, the country is struggling to cope with the 4 million Syrian refugees that now live here as “guests” or Refugees Under Temporary Protection.
But miracles do happen and one recently happened for them: the family has a sponsor in Canada and the chance for a new life. However, in order to qualify for resettlement, they must have the funds to support themselves for one year and this is why we are asking for your help. All donations will go directly toward rent, utilities, household items and food. Your donation will give Ahmed, Shaymaa, Baraa and Omar a new start.
Ahmed currently works tirelessly as a volunteer at the TIAFI, a well-known refugee community centre in Izmir. Not only is he integral to daily operations, he is passing on his tailoring skills to disabled and unemployed women, in turn giving them a chance to make a living. Before the war in Syria he was repairing computers and hopes to study computer science in the future. Shaymaa, who was a second-year engineering student before the war, hopes to return to university and fulfill her dream of becoming an engineer.
A donation from you will help Ahmed, Shaymaa, Omar and Baraa to start a new life.
Together we can make a difference, Thank you for your support.
