Epoch Studio Salon Covid-19 Fund

Well, here we are.  We want to say that we sincerely hope that you, our client family, are safe, healthy, practicing social distancing, not hoarding TP, maximizing Netflix screen time and enjoying the onslaught of Covid-19 memes. Hey, we need to laugh to keep from crying. 

First and foremost, Epoch is a family over all else and we always strive to take care of our employees in the best way possible. They are the heart of it and that's what makes this so hard. 

Due to the shelter in place mandate and us wanting to follow best practices to keep everyone safe, Epoch has to close its doors until April 7th. But if we are being realistic I have a feeling it will be longer. 

Yesterday, we had to make the very hard decision to let 14 of our employees go. It was like getting the wind knocked out of you over and over again. Everyone took it as best as they could and we were even able to joke at times and laugh at the ridiculousness of all of it. But it was very inspiring to see each of them offer to help each other navigate this and even ask us after we just laid them off how we are doing with all this. 

It's awkward and uncomfortable to ask for financial help for a for-profit business. But it feels even worse to ask for help when people we know and love are losing their jobs, closing their own businesses,  experiencing loss and at the end of the day going through something that we just don't know how it will shake out. 

We believe in full transparency with our staff and that's why I believe it's only fair to be transparent when we are asking for support. While we do have reserves the fact of the matter is that we still have to pay our rent, insurance, utilities with no income currently coming in. 

Our biggest goal with this ask is to support our staff. We want them to be able to, most importantly, cover their health insurance which is supercritical as we have a few immune-compromised and a very soon Mother to be (surprise everyone). We also want to be able to help them keep a roof over their head and food on the table. If all else fails they'll move into the salon and will try to sell the concept as a reality television series. (kidding...).

So here it is. We are asking for anything you are able to donate. Every dollar helps. If you are unable to donate we are also taking on words of encouragement and if you've been in before a review  wouldn't hurt. 

We hope to see you on the other side of this where we will pay you back by always doing our best to make you feel your best self, provide great life advice, and provide a safe welcoming place for you to get away and decompress. We all know we are gonna need it.
