Epilepsiekranke Hündin braucht Unterstützung

Hallo, das ist Holly, eine 5 Jahre alte Corgi Hündin und ihre Fellbesitzer Nicole+Carsten. ☀️

Seitdem sie 10 Monate alt ist leidet Holly unter idiopatischer Epilepsie, welche sehr schwer therapierbar ist. Sie hat regelmäßige Anfälle. In ihren schlimmsten Zeiten mehrmals täglich. Momentan ca. 1x/Monat +/-

Da sie die Diagnose vor Abschluss einer Tierkrankenversicherung erhalten hat, müssen mein Mann und ich die Kosten selbständig stemmen. (Medikamente ca 100€ im Monat, regelm. Laborkontrollen, weitere tierärztl. Kontrollen, spez. Futter, Notfallmedikamente)

Ein MRT konnten wir nie durchführen lassen, da die Kosten unseren Rahmen sprengen würden.

Leider hatte Holly die letzten Tage eine heftige Infektion und hat 3 Tage lang Futter verweigert und erbrochen. Daraufhin wurde sie beim TA therapiert mit Antibiotika und Infusionen.

Leider geriet ihr Stoffwechsel durch die Infektion völlig durcheinander sodass sie eine Phenobarbital Vergiftung davongetragen hat. (wahrscheinlich durch den Infekt bedingt, sodass die Leber nicht mehr gut gearbeitet/gefiltert hat). Holly war am Morgen kaum mehr ansprechbar und musste notfallmäßig stationär in der Klinik aufgenommen werden.

Sie wurde zum Glück wieder stabil entlassen, aber die Kosten belaufen sich auf 1500€. (Vorläufig) Die Dosis muss neu angepasst werden und Holly benötigt in den nächsten Wochen engmaschige Kontrollen beim TA. Wir müssen leider mit gut 2000€ Kosten insgesamt rechnen, welche zusätzlich auf die laufenden Kosten monatlich wegen ihrer Erkrankung entstehen.

Mein Mann und ich wissen nicht wie wir die Kosten momentan abdecken sollen (viele anstehende Kosten in den nächsten Monaten), weshalb ich diesen Aufruf gestartet habe. Ich selbst bin aktuell noch Studentin und kann aufgrund des Vollzeitstudiums (Hebammenstudium) keinen Nebenjob annehmen und lebe vom monatlichen Gehalt.

Hello, this is Holly, a 5-year-old Corgi dog and her furry owners Nicole+Carsten. ☀️

Holly has suffered from idiopathic epilepsy since she was 10 months old, which is very difficult to treat. She has regular seizures. In her worst times, several times a day. Currently about once a month +/-

As she received the diagnosis before taking out pet health insurance, my husband and I have to cover the costs ourselves. (Medications about €100 a month, regular lab tests, other veterinary checks, special food, emergency medication)

We were never able to have an MRI done because the costs would have exceeded our budget.

Unfortunately, Holly has had a severe infection in the last few days and has refused food and vomited for 3 days. She was then treated by the vet with antibiotics and infusions.

Unfortunately, her metabolism was completely messed up by the infection, so she suffered from phenobarbital poisoning (probably caused by the infection, so that the liver was no longer working/filtering properly). Holly was barely responsive in the morning and had to be admitted to the hospital as an emergency.

Luckily, she was discharged in a stable condition, but the costs amount to €1,500. (Provisional) The dose has to be readjusted and Holly will need close checks by the vet over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, we have to reckon with costs totaling a good €2,000, which are in addition to the running costs every month because of her epilepsy.

My husband and I don't know how we are going to cover the costs at the moment (many upcoming costs in the next few months), which is why I have started this appeal. I am currently still a student and cannot take on a part-time job due to my full-time studies (midwifery) and live on my monthly salary.
