Epic hike for Armagh special Olympics club

Four hiking pals are taking on a huge challenge of all challenges to raise funds for armagh special Olympics swimming club.

Three hikers,

Carolyn mckinney Co Armagh

John finnegan Co Leitrim

Ben Scott Co Wicklow

One driver Brendan Barrett Co Galway

 

32 counties. 26 mountains.

Roughly 1800km,/30 hours of driving

10,000m elevation gain. ( climbing total for Everest is 6000m)

Roughly 160km of hiking,/50 hours

Starting point is Donegal 12pm Friday 8th of april errigal... with first mountain mweelrea at 4.00am Saturday 10th...

With Monday finishing at some point with errigal mountain.

The gang have completed this challenge last year with a time of 87 hours so want to get a better time while raising funds for a worthy cause and have been training since August.

They are hoping to get it done in well under 80 hours, hopefully over 3 days With non stop no sleeping just driving and hiking.
