Oliver is a 3 year old Shihtzu/Bichon mix. He’s been (though stoic) a huge light in my life since getting him at 16 weeks. I am devastated. He’s in severe pain—so much so that even a light touch brings him distress. He can’t walk on his own anymore, and I have to carry him just to get around. Most days, he’s sedated just to give him some relief while he’s on multiple medications that only help a little. I recently moved over 900 miles away and don’t have any local support—no one nearby to help with his care or lift when things get hard. What he truly needs is a visit to a veterinary neurologist, and possibly surgery for IVDD, to address the source of his suffering and help him regain a life free from pain. As you know this is not cheap for Us let alone a vet neurologist. The quote is 6,000 just for Consult & Imaging.
