Enter Postulancy

On the 1st of August 2023, I will be entering Postulancy with The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma Michigan, a refoundation of the original order of the Sisters of Mercy originally founded in Dublin in 1831 by Mother Catherine McAuley. The RSMs are dedicated to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, for example, many sisters serve in education and healthcare.

During my second year studying at university, I started discerning a religious vocation and was encouraged to meet the RSMs who have a convent in Scotland. Spending time with the sisters over the past two years has confirmed my desire to pursue the call to religious life; this eagerness grew further after visiting the Motherhouse in Alma in May 2022. Once I graduate in June 2023, I look forward to this new stage of my life, and, God-willing, life as a religious sister.

There are some significant financial hurdles that must be resolved before I am able to enter the convent, one of these being the fact that I must immigrate to the United States of America. I am responsible for the application and lawyers’ fees and I will also have to cover the cost of my flight to Michigan in August. Another major obstacle I face is the repayment of personal debt that must be settled before entry. Overall, this is estimated to cost roughly £6,396.

I am hoping to raise funds to cover these costs so that I can continue to follow the Lord’s plan for my life. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and, also, all prayers are welcomed.
