My brother, Ken Blake, is a fearless, courageous, loving single father of 3 children, who is in critical condition with stage 4 esophageal cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of cancer.
Every parent wants to know their children will be alright after they are gone. You can help make this happen for Ken.
The physical struggle has been grueling. On top of that, Ken is now too ill to work, resulting in financial strain and increasing worry over how to provide for his family. Ken is the single father of two adult children, Nathan and Emily, as well as his son Ryan, a 16-year-old High School senior.
Ken adopted all three of his children, and was featured in this segment on CBS news Boston in 2018 when he adopted Ryan:
Ken’s battle with cancer began unexpectedly last summer, when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer during what was thought to be a stomach flu.
Throughout the next several months he continued to live his best life: sailing, renovating his house, spending time with friends and family, and working, all the while receiving chemotherapy every 2 weeks for 3 days. It is only recently that he has not been able to work. He now is in the ICU with pulmonary hypertension putting pressure on his heart, lungs, and ribcage, and needs to be on oxygen 24 hours a day. His greatest desire is to live long enough to see his son Ryan graduate from High School in a year.
Ken is no longer able to work and support his family for current and future needs. Ken has given so much to the world in adopting three children, who once faced an unknown future with no family. Ken gave them a home, love, a family and a promising future. That future is now jeopardized by Ken’s devastating illness. Your donation helps ensure stability for them and peace of mind for Ken during his final days, knowing they have resources.
Funds will be used for living expenses for the family, medical expenses, funeral and cremation expenses, and providing for needs especially for Ryan. We are so grateful for all contributions, prayers, and notes of support.
