Yerlys was brutally detained and needed immediate surgery on her knees. She was sent to DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital where she had the surgery and received 30 stitches. Currently she is being held at the Northlake Detention Center in Baldwin, MI and is not receiving the proper medical care to recover from such an intense surgery.
She has only spoken to her husband and lawyer each once despite having sufficient funds in her commissary to make calls. Yerlys has been isolated from other people, despite the fact that her own daughter is being held at the same facility.
While Yerlys is stuck in this facilty, her husband is at home taking care of her 8 year old son and 3 other grandchildren.
