Help with Shirley's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hey y'all, for those who know me well know that my dogs are everything to me. After a routine check up at the vet's, we were suddenly met with an onslaught of problems in our poor Shirley. X-rays revealed a lesion in her right leg and vets were worried it might be bone cancer even though it is uncommon for dogs her size. Wanting to be sure before we decided to amputate her leg, we ordered CT scans only to discover a possibly malignant tumor in her kidneys, abscess in her gums, and an air bubble in her lung which would be fatal if popped.
After a long and hard discussion amongst the family, we decided that it would be too risky to continue with some of the treatment considering her age even though we know it means our time with her will be cut short. Instead, we want to focus on the safer procedures and ensure her comfort during her remaining time with us.
We have already spent $5k that we don't have on running the tests that have brought us here and we are hoping the remaining $3k will cover most if not all of the remaining procedures.
