Ensure Loving Care for Bill Conrad
We are raising money for Bill Conrad, the oldest member of the Vedanta Society of New York, who is now 100 and who has been a member of the Society since 1955. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a Navigator. His plane was forced down in Russia. In serving his country, he was held as a wounded POW. He was a recognized biophysicist known for developing a collapsible tube to aid blood flow to the heart. At the Vedanta Society, Bill has been an active and invaluable volunteer, contributing to building maintenance, recording the Swami's talks, making the collection, cooking and other activities as needed. He was a dedicated participant in the Society's classes and talks. He is mentioned frequently by Swami Sarvapriyananda in his talks.
He has been in The New Jewish Nursing Home for the past year and has done well because of the private aide, Loren, who attends to Bill, 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Bill has run out of money, so we would like to raise enough money to continue Loren's loving service. To that end we need to raise approximately $3,000 per month.
