Ensure Justice and Safety for a Podcasting Friend

I'm Tal, fiction podcaster and voice actor. I'm running this campaign on behalf of a friend in the industry, Daisy McNamara.

Daisy has been harassed by an individual for almost two years now. This person has gone so far as to contact her employer to get her fired, send threatening mail, cyberstalk her, post endlessly about her online (including dead naming), lie about her to potential freelance clients to prevent her from getting work, and more. I have seen these actions firsthand and witnessed the emotional distress caused by this individual.

I'm not the only one who thinks the situation is bad - Daisy was harassed so much that a judge granted a year-long restraining order. This has stopped most of the harassment, but her stalker has indicated they are waiting for the restraining order to end in order to resume the abuse. So Daisy is back in court trying to get the restraining order extended for her safety.

But this requires the help of lawyers, and lawyers are expensive. Legal counsel has indicated this is a fairly open-and-shut case, and that Daisy is likely to be granted an extension. But she has already sunk hundreds of dollars into protecting herself from this individual, and can't afford lawyers' $300 an hour rates on her own.

This restraining order has been keeping Daisy safe for a year, and I'm scared what will happen to her when it ends. Please help us afford the costs of extending it. This restraining order is preventing this person from contacting Daisy's friends and coworkers about her, posting lies about her online, threatening Daisy directly, or attempting to harass her in person. We are confident that several of these things will happen again when the restraining order ends.
