Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. Bob, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and member of the Deaf community, has been fighting a courageous battle after suffering a spinal cord injury in a swimming accident while on Deaf cruise vacation in Aruba last February.

Since the accident, Bob has faced numerous challenges. He is completely immobile, unable to walk or use his hands, which has made communication extremely difficult. A dangerous bone infection, resulting from multiple pressure ulcers (bed sores), has halted his rehabilitation while doctors focus on treating the infection.

At this stage, Bob is home, surrounded by his family, and his wish is to spend his final days in the comfort of his own space. However, his care needs are now around the clock, requiring in-home hospice care along with professional CNA support to ensure he is as comfortable as possible and to assist with his daily needs. We are seeking financial assistance to help cover the costs of this specialized care, as well as the mounting medical bills from his initial hospitalization in Aruba, so Bob can remain at home, where he feels most at peace.

The funds we’re seeking will help cover the ongoing costs of 24/7 in-home hospice and CNA care, which are critical to Bob’s comfort and dignity. They will also help address the substantial medical debt we’ve incurred from his emergency care and treatments while in Aruba. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support these care needs and help us manage the additional medical expenses that have arisen.
