Ensure a Warm Lopez Welcome for Canoe Journeys 2025
Donation protected
The Canoe Journeys are returning once again.
Let’s give them a big Lopez welcome!
Year after year, we are graced with the Gathering of the Eagles Canoe Journey in May, the Challenge Paddle of Coast Salish youth and Blue Heron Canoe Family in midsummer.
Your donation ensures a hearty Lopez welcome for all arriving canoe families.
This what is happening this year:
- May 17-19: The Gathering of the Eagles (GOTE) will be at Spencer Spit.
- August 23: Indigenous Celebration Day at Odlin, Coast Salish Youth Coalition and, hopefully, the Blue Heron Canoe Family
How you can participate: (see Lopez Rocks for more details)
- May 17, 1pm: Circle up as Gathering of the Eagles canoes land at Spencer Spit State Park.
- May 17, 5pm: Celebrate the GOTE canoe families with a community potluck and protocol at Lopez School.
- August 23: Join in the Indigenous Celebration day at Odlin County Park.

Who are the Friends of Lopez Canoe Landings?
You are! Together, we support these gatherings, bringing in volunteers and raising funds for food, supplies, gifts and venue fees, as needed.
We want the Canoe Families to continue to experience Lopez as a community that values our deepening friendships and that respects their ties to these islands and waterways as they have since time immemorial.
How you can support the journeys:
Please come to the landing and the Community Potluck and if you're able to, please help us raise funds to cover to costs of hosting these journeys.
Specifically: We aim to raise a total of $3,500 for journey activities.
As possible, we'll purchase goods on Lopez.
How you can donate?
Your GoFundMe donation is greatly appreciated.
If you would like a tax deductions, donate on the Stripe link here: https://buy.stripe.com/14kcOYbft0Pqfrq6ox
Many thanks for your donation. And a big thanks to Lopez community members and businesses who have supported Canoe Family landings over the years!
