I wouldn't have thought that I would be doing this at some point in my life, but due to exceptional and unexpected circumstances, I am left in economic hardship that I have to do something about.

I am a fourth-year international PhD student at a public university in Florida. I was funded under a College of Public Health Doctoral Fellowship Award up until August 2025. I have been in Tampa since 2022 and I have only been to Egypt about two times to check on my wife and kids. I depend on my stipend to pay rent and sustain living in Tampa, and at the same time send money to my family to sustain living in Egypt until I am done with my PhD. Anyway, I have a family emergency that I have to attend to in Egypt, but I need money to cover my rent for seven months (January to July 2025). I tried to sublease my room here, but the conditions for sublease are outstanding and debilitating for the new tenant that it is better for me to keep the room and pay for it online while I am in Egypt until I return to the US in May.

If I just leave and not pay my rent, I will be red-flagged every time I try to come back to the US or even apply for academic jobs in the US. I spent 7 years of my life trying to get my current PhD, spent 3+ years away from my wife and kids pursuing it, and I don't want to lose all that just because I can't afford to complete my lease.

My current monthly rent is $900 on average, and I need your support to pay 7 months (January to July 2025). Thank you so much for your help. God bless you all.
