Easter Sunday I received a text asking me to pray for my friend of 20 years, Enrique Chavez. His wife, Johanna, is like a sister to me. And we all lived together for a spell post-college, pre-careers. Attached to the text was his recent photo, I didn't recognize him. Enrique has taken ill in the past two months. After a CAT scan was preformed, it showed that Enrique has a large tumor that must be removed. The tumor has become so large that he is no longer able to find a comfortable position to sleep. Additionally, Enrique is in an extreme amount of pain due to the pressure that the tumor is putting on his organs.

Enrique's condition hit hard and fast. Two months ago Enrique was employed full time, healthy, and active. Around Valentine's Day of this year he came down with what he thought was a stomach flu. What he thought was the flu was actually the side effects of the blockages that the tumor has caused.

Enrique needs surgery as soon as possible. He is currently residing in Mexico, where the medical system is very different than the U.S. Enrique must have $5000 for payment before the doctors will operate. This surgery will remove the tumor, and also let doctors know how to proceed. Without this surgery the future does not look good for Enrique.
