Enrique Olivares Burial

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Henry Olivares (son) and I arranged a gofundme in order to attempt to raise funds on behalf of my family for a burial service for my dad Enrique Olivares (64 yrs old) who passed away on December 31, 2023. Since this situation was spontaneous and very unpredictable on how things turned out, it put my family in a very tough situation to raise funds in a small-time frame (could be 1-2 weeks).

Our father was admitted into the hospital for his symptoms as a result of anemia but later it was discovered that he had liver cancer in May 2023. This was terrible news felt like the end of the world for him and our family. After some time, my dad chose to see the best in things and chose to fight for his life and so he underwent immunotherapy and continued to maintain his good health. As time progressed, he made some progress but slowly over time his health began to decline more and more.

Eventually, immunotherapy was no longer an option because the medicine was too strong for him and in late November 2023, he was prescribed a new chemotherapy drug (pill form) for his liver cancer with the expectation that it'd help him. Unexpectedly, two weeks later his body experienced severe large skin burns reactions (comparable to that of the 3rd degree), as a result of the medicine (adverse reaction) and was admitted to the hospital. From there it was a fight for his life as his liver function and immunity have been further severely compromised. Through his days in the hospital, things began to look like it would improve and that there was a glimmer of hope that he'd make a strong recovery, but after some time, things began to get worse and my dad was in a state where he was semi-conscious, where he was able to listen but slowly lost his ability to eat and communicate clearly.

As things no longer improved and the doctors could not control/improve his symptoms, we acknowledged my dad's last wishes, he wished to go home and as a result was offered home hospice. He arrived home on December 30, 2023, and was very happy, he spoke to us and was the most alert we've seen him, it was very clear he missed home and wanted to be with us. However, the next day his health appeared to have gotten the worst it's ever been, and, in the afternoon, he unfortunately passed away.

Our dad was a man of strong character but also had an amazing kind soul, he loved each and every one of us in his family and always did his best for us. He also loved his brothers and his brother's family with all of his heart. Without a doubt, he is leaving behind an incredible void within all of our hearts and the lives of our friends, as our dad had a special gift which made anyone around feel like family.

He will be missed deeply, and we hope that his soul journeys on and reunites with his loved ones and that his soul rests peacefully.

On the behalf of me and my family we ask for help with any donations, as we know even a little goes a long way. Realistically we do not expect to hit our goal of 30,000 (the cost of burial land is very pricey) but this money is solely to cover burial costs and further burial expenses, and we are also doing our own part to contribute to this as best we could as well.

Please help us to grant my father's last wish which is to be buried alongside his long-term friend.
From the bottom of our hearts on behalf of myself and my family, thank you.
