Sending Scott Home

Donation protected
Scott Cummings passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:43pm after a long battle with addiction. My brother was full of life and laughter. Always making others smile despite the pain he faced internally everyday. I remember as kids, him always taking care of me. It is now my time to take care of him.

He left this earth prematurely, with no plans and no financial arrangements. My husband and I have put what we could toward his cremation and services.

Harvest Community Church of Concord, NC has stepped up and offered to conduct his memorial. They have not asked for money but the right thing to do would be to make a donation. They are filming the service so that my brothers loved ones that live far away can be a part of his homecoming. The church has stepped up to provide a meal, music, sermon, and beautiful slide show. The pastor and other members have rearranged thier personal schedules to dedicate time to honor my brother. There simply aren't words to express our gratitude.

Things are difficult now. Saying goodbye is never easy. But its very hard to ask for help. I wish I could do it all myself. I wish I could give him the biggest celebration ever. But I can't. My husband and I have used our school loan money to make even the minimal happen. We are only asking for help to cover the cost of the basics.

Also, my brother is survived by two beautiful children who are trying to make it here to North Carolina from New Hampshire. Please help us bring his babies to his side one last time.

We set a goal of $2,500. $1,000 for the cost of cremation services. $1,000 for travel expenses, meals and boarding for his children and thier mother while here for the funeral. And $500 for a donation to the church for all the resources and energy they have put into making my brothers homecoming happen.

If you find it in your heart to give we will be forever grateful. If you can't give then please pray. Pray for peace and comfort. Pray for every family that is being touched by the devestation that addiction brings.
