Mama's Memorial Fund

A few months ago our mom was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.  She started chemo along with radiation treatments as soon as the doctors could get started.  She was a fighter and stayed in good spirits as she tried to fight this overpowering disease.  Mom fought with all of her might until the end and all the while staying positive; she was unfortunately taken from us 2 days ago suddenly due to complications from the lung cancer.  Our mom was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, companion and friend. Life has changed as we know it but we know in our heart that mama is watching over us and looking down smiling.
 
Upon contacting the life insurance company, it was brought to our attention that due to a clause in the policy they are not going to payout for the funeral expenses.  This has completely blindsided us. With that said, we are now looking at a possible full cost out of pocket. This account was not an easy decision for our family to make, especially since we thought we had everything in  order to give our mom the memorial she deserves.  We are asking for any help you are able to give.  Again, this is one of the hardest things we have had to do after the loss of our mom.  All donations will be used for funeral costs along with any other expenses that our step dad will encounter after this tragic event.
