Help Us Build ENLIGHT: A Regenerative Learning Village for Children, Kenya
~ Revolutionizing How we Care for Global Children Born into Poverty
UPDATE: I'm determined to ensure that our January voyage will produce at least 1/3 of full implementations, and no less! That would require $33,000 budget ....So- continuing to call all Angels
Please consider being the named sponsor (or anonymous sponsor) of one of these major implementation needs:
Your 2,000 donation - Hire The Lawyer
Sponsor all necessary legal fees to be established as a formal "Project" of a reputable NGO - Kesho Kenya - starting our rich collaboration with their project managers, educators and social workers, and establish a lease agreement with the property on which our farm has already started.
Your $1000 donation - Internal travel to 'pitch & find' Angel Donors
Covers targeted location travel within Kenya over 4 months, so that I can show up shining and inspiring to local philanthropic organizations and individulas, offer presentations to welcome and onboard the angel donors we need for full implementation this year!
Your $1500 donation- Sponsor the chicken fencing & rain catch tanks
Over the last 6 months, Kingi and I have handmade soil from scrap organic materials- piles of it- we need to now harness the chicken area so they don't steal all our precious happy soil-worms, and we can catch rain this april/may when it pours to use all year round. We will get thousands of liter tanks.
Your $700 donation- Sponsor the Seedlings
We have handmade enough rich soil (on otherwise arid/sandy land) over the last 6 months, to PLANT! We will buy seedlings & seeds that are methodically determined within Permaculture science to thrive in our Regenerative Farm branch of the Village. Drought resistant and Indigenous crops, based on the knowledge of Kenyan indigenous crop experts.
Your $1000 donation- Sponsor the Borehole Water Filter
Borehole is there, pump is there, water is largely seawater, but - with solar energy and a filter, we can use this limitless water for irrigation! Once the lawyer hooks us into NGO status, the materials are tax free and very affordable. Between rain catch and this filter, and wise indigenous style planting, our farm will thrive! and so will our soil production for us, as well as for an income stream.
Your $1500 donation- Sponsor Permaculture Course/Consulting
Kids, Me and Kingi (the farm intern/ farm land owner) go to a 2-week kenyan-based Permaculture Course and follow up with on-site consulting from the Lead Instructor.
Your $12,000 donation - Sponsor a 1/2 acre purchase
Your $12,000 donation - Sponsor the other 1/2 acre purchase
We have the opportunity to secure the 1 acre parcel directly next to our farm land, and a foot-path away from the Children's Rescue center that we partner with in the RegenVIllage.
That Homestead will be residence for the Director, our guest volunteers and overseas associates & partners at the same time it IS the learning center branch's the sustainable building site, AND will provide kids in need with emergency shelter.
Your $1200 donation- Sponsor a years' salary for 2 staff
We have already vetted and installed two staff - the Farm Manager Intern and the on-site project manager. We can start their much deserved salary, and cover nearly a year with this donation.
When you sponsor a specific domain, we will send you exclusive and timely photos and videos to see your impact as first-hand as possible! Or, feel free to come drop-by in Kenya. You could see - and - take up a shovel!
WHAT is ENLIGHT?
ENLIGHT stands to be a new prototype to raise up children born into deep need to their fullest potential, providing them with the regenerative skills and innovative thought they need to thrive, precisely within their socio-economic reality.
Nurtured in our RegenVillage, scores of children born into little will forge the future within a global movement of awakening Regenerative Practices, while re-imagining the indigenous growing wisdoms, thereby securing sustainability for humans and earth in the next generations.
The Problem with the Current System
For children in deep need in Kenya, traditional schooling is often not enough.
- Families struggle with nearly impossible school fees.
- The system demands high performance on frequent, stressful exams.
- Few in primary school even master english reading
- Very few children have the chance to attend higher education.
- Even fewer graduates secure employment.
This creates a cycle of failed expectations and hopelessness. A change is long overdue.
ENLIGHT: A New Blueprint for the Future
ENLIGHT's revolutionary concept stands to be a prototype replicable in Africa and beyond.
In the Learning Center, prong of the village, we nurture children in deep need to reach their fullest potential, integrating the mastery of essential academic skills with hands-on, regenerative growing, building & living practices.
Children in our model will:
- Learn indigenous crops and regenerative farming
- Develop critical primary academic skills (reading, writing, maths) while being hands on with Regenerative growing/building/ecological systems.
- Have a haven of a well-rounded practical learning center for attending during long school holidays
- Gain practical sustainable building skills
- Have emergency as-needed shelter built with and for children
Understanding Regenerative Practices
Regenerative systems, by design, give back more than they take, and foster resilience in the face of change. Reflecting natural patterns, designing with whole-systems thinking these concepts have long been the cornerstone when communities and cultures of people dwell in a conscious and symbiotic relationship with their environment. It encompasses re-imagining indigenous wisdoms that knew harmony between humans and earth.
We align with worldwide pioneering movements to promulgate Regenerative Design & Development including the children as full bodied participants, as they hold the key to the next generation of regeneration and sustainable living that responds to our climate crisis.
The Impact: A Generation Transformed
This is more than a new concept in education; ENLiGHT is a model for societal , human and earth regeneration from the ground up.
Children in this model will:
- Embody practical, regenerative skills to build, grow, create, and innovate.
- Become resilient and resourceful, not broken by a stream of failing expectations.
- Become citizens who contribute to their communities' regeneration, ecologically, economically and socially.
- Disrupt cycles of hopelessness, neglect, crime, and corruption.
- Be equipt to sustain their own lives and be part of effective responses to the climate crisis
We Have Already Begun...
We have secured 1.5 acres of land in Gede and are already transforming sandy, arid soil into rich, fertile ground using organic materials that would otherwise be burned or buried.
See the video/photo album of our handmade soil step by step just over the last few months!
Our Team and Collaborators
We have strong local partnerships:
- Kingi Baya, Farm Manager: Growing rich soil daily on our "Indigenous Regenerative Farm" plot.
- Famiglia Milele: a respected local organization with 14 years of experience, providing urgent and transitional shelter for children, is our "sister" in association and part of the Village plan
- Expert Local Collaborators: A dedicated team specializing in law, permaculture, botany, finances, and the well-established local NGO "Kesho Kenya" is both a collaborative partner and fiscal sponsor.
- Staff: Educators and project assistants are at the ready.
Our Immediate Goal - FULL SEED FUNDING: $89,000 USD
Our Secondary Goal - NEXT STAGE FUNDING: $33, 000 would provide meaningful advancements in the 2026 4 month voyage, while not get us to implementation.
With FULL 'Seed Funding', we can secure all core operations and LAUNCH!
- Land Security: Purchasing one plot for Sustainable Homestead and leasing the adjacent one for Regenerative farm.
- Construction: Erecting sustainable buildings (superadobe) with community and child participation, learning all the way, on the Homestead land
- Farm Preparation: Fully preparing the farm for sustainable agriculture, regenerative practices, a food forrest.
- Programming: Implement the core programming of the Learning Center for children with staff, transportation, contracts with schools for weekly visits and school holiday programming
With 'Next Stage' funding, for 2026, we will be able to:
- develop our farm land into arable, with our farm manager intern and keep growing soil to cover our 1.5 acres and for selling locally!
- travel through kenya to present this Initiative to potential local Angel Donors for full seed funding
- employ lawyer for necessary foundational agreements , with the NGO 'Kesho Kenya' and with the land owner for a long term lease, set up immigration and banking requirements
- take a course, locally implemented, permaculture, food forrest and regenerative water practices, two weeks long in march, to train ourselves and our farm intern.
- hire a consultant to develop the farm land set up as regen in all ways
- scout out donation land nearby for the Sustainable Homestead to be built once full seed funding is available.
- forge more foundational collaborations such as with the nearby university agriculture department and partner to have data compiled and a business plan for the for-profit branch of selling handmade soil.
**Please ask to see our full itemized budget for seed phase and an 10 - year run.**
**for those who need to make their donation directly to a 501-c3, please ask for details - it's easy!**
The Ask: Donate and Share
