Hello, my name is Deionne Miller and I am currently a high school junior in Rockaway, New Jersey. I’m writing you today to ask for your help. But first let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m a sixteen year old high school junior. I was selected to participate in the Magnet (Math and Science) Program and I’m currently taking five Advanced Placement (AP) courses. I am also a member of my school’s French Club, Teen Leadership Council, and Gifted & Talented Program.
Some of my extracurricular activities include volunteering at C.S. Gymnastics in Flanders, NJ and participating in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. GEMS program to enhance my future success. Last summer, I had the honor of being accepted into the Harvard University Secondary School Program. I took advantage of the opportunity to be taught by Ivy League professors and studied Intermediate French and Pre-calculus. I really learned a lot and I enjoyed being in an environment where doing your best wasn’t an option, it was the expectation.
My intent is to attend a four-year university, graduate with my medical degree, and work for a non-profit organization that helps the community. I have always known that I want a job that will help others so I believe that the medical field is the perfect fit for me. While this occupation is one of the most important jobs in the world, it is also one of the most expensive in terms of the mandatory education. But, I know that if I do my best at everything, God will work out the rest.
So currently, I am a participant in the Carettes, Inc. of Northern New Jersey 2016 Junior Debutante Ball. This is an event that’s hosted every year to help high school juniors, (and guess what I am?), in the community raise funds for college. In order to accomplish this goal we ask those that have taken an interest in our future success to donate to our Scholarship Fund.
All donations received will go solely towards my college scholarship fund. With your sponsorship, my main focus can be my studies rather than the financing of my college education. By majoring in the medical field I will be in school for a minimum of four years. Your sponsorship will go towards funding for my textbooks, housing, and all other aspects of my tuition. I plan on going to one of the nation's top nursing universities so that I can receive the education one needs to make an impact in the world.
All donation amounts will be deeply appreciated and are also tax deductible. The absolute deadline for all donations is Sunday, February 21st, 2016. Beginning February 22nd, 2016, no more donations will be accepted.
