This little nugget is Enid. We rescued her from a suspected puppy mill situation back in July and she has quickly become an integral part of our family. She is a constant source of love and comic relief, and now that we've welcomed her into our home, we can't imagine our lives without her.

Unfortunately, Enid is currently very sick.
Due to Enid's propensity for picking up and devouring pretty much anything she can get her mouth on, she has become ill with what we suspect to be some sort of obstruction in her digestive tract.
Long story short, we're facing a pretty hefty vet bill to hopefully get Enid back on her feet. We're taking her in tomorrow (Saturday, 12/3) for a preliminary checkup to discover what exactly is wrong with her, but we already know that treatment will not be cheap, and, without disclosing the minute details of our personal finances, we're strapped for cash and may not be able to afford to get Enid the proper treatment to see her through this incident. She is only a year old and her health otherwise is perfect, so we would hate to have to consider euthanasia as a solution to this problem.
Enid's condition is looking to be fairly severe as of right now, and financially securing the money needed for her treatment could take Pat and I longer than Enid has, time really is of the essence right now. Hence why we've opted to pursue a GoFundMe campaign.

I literally have no idea how much all of Enid's treatment is going to cost, so I just chose an estimated goal number. Whatever money we raise through GoFundMe will go directly to Enid's vet bills, in addition to the purchase of a soft, comfortable muzzle so that she can no longer eat random items off the ground on her walks. I will update this page as soon as I have a clearer idea of what exactly will be involved in getting Enid back on the road to health, as well as a better estimate of the funds we'll be hoping to raise. Even if you can't donate, a simple share on social media would be so helpful and mean so much to me, Pat, and our little nugget.
If we raise more money than we end up needing for Enid's treatment, we will be donating what remains to the GoFundMe of someone else whose dog is in need of medical care. We are so appreciative of your help and want to pay it forward.
In return, all I can offer is my endless gratitude and constant updates on Facebook and Instagram of Enid's progress (accompanied by photos of her smushy face, of course). I've never outright begged for charity before, and so this feels strange and uncomfortable to me, but I figured this would be worth a shot, for Enid's sake. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. <3
