The Engler Family (Gary, Carolyn, and Carrie) lost a lifetime worth of property as a result of the Beachie Creek Fire. Like a lot of families who live in the North Fork area, their property was completely devastated by the fire. Gary's shop burnt down, along with multiple vehicles and an excavator. Gary had been restoring a truck for his daughter, Carrie, and had already invested hundreds of hours into the project. This was one of the vehicles completely destroyed by the fire.
Gary estimates approximately $200,000 worth of personal property was destroyed by the fire (multiple motorcycles, mechanic's tools, brand new saw mill, woodworking equipment, multiple engines/transmissions, construction equipment, and various gas and power tools). Unfortunately, insurance will only cover a small portion of this loss. AND TO TOP IT OFF, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS FAMILY HAS HAD TO COMPLETELY REBUILD AFTER A FIRE.
My hope is that we can come together as a community and help the Engler family replace a portion of their loss and get back on their feet. Gary is devastated about losing Carrie's truck and is already looking for a replacement. The Engler family embodies the saying, "Hard times make hard people." I pray we can make this rebuild much easier on them the second time around.
