For those who haven't heard already -- a few weeks ago, I was driving back to LA from my brother's graduation in Utah when my car broke down in a dramatic fashion. So dramatic, in fact, that my engine caught fire in the middle of the desert after my pistons overheated and combusted, puncturing multiple holes in my engine block, essentially killing the engine.

Because this is considered a mechanical failure and not an accident, my insurance is not covering any of the costs involved with this situation. Currently, my car is still in Las Vegas. With help from family, I was able to find and acquire a used engine replacement; however, I am still struggling to come up with the money to cover the cost of actually installing that engine in my car. Anything you may be able to donate to help cover those costs would be life-changing for me. As of now, my day-to-day transportation needs are being met with the help of family and friends, but I am still in the process of looking for work after finishing up my Master's degree and need to be able to have my car back and in action in order to have reliable transportation.
