Engine 74 FDNY, JT the fire dog needs your help.
Donation protected
Throughout the history of the FDNY Dalmatians have always been a part of the firehouse tradition. Engine 74 has continually had a Dalmatian for over 35 years. JT is our latest dalmatian member.
He became a member of Engine 74 on September 10, 2021 after the passing of our beloved Yogi. Our past dalmatians were not only members of the firehouse but they became part of the community. JT is no exception, children and adults of all ages would often stop by the firehouse just to see JT.
Now JT and Engine 74 could use your help.
JT has recently had a severe medical emergency. His bladder ruptured due to kidney stones that were undetected causing swelling in his stomach and abdomen. This then led to him having to be monitored for his heart and electrolytes levels along with his abdomen being needed to be drained before he could have surgery. When those levels subsided after two days in the hospital JT was able to have surgery on his bladder to repair the rupture and remove the stones. After four days in the hospital JT was able to be released to recover back at his home at the firehouse. After Mounting medical bills due to the surgery not being covered by insurance we are asking for anybody to help offset the cost of the surgery and hospital stay. We want to thank you in advance for you generosity and we greatly appreciate you helping us out.
